What is the correct bolt torque for a flange?
Flange bolt torque depends on bolt diameter, bolt material, gasket type, and the target bolt stress, so there is no single value per flange size. Torque is calculated for the joint rather than read from the flange class alone. What is the bolt circle diameter on an ASME B16.5 flange?
The bolt circle diameter is the diameter of the imaginary circle passing through the centers of the bolt holes. Do Class 150 and Class 300 flanges use the same bolts?
No. Class 300 flanges use a larger bolt circle, larger diameter bolts, and in most sizes a higher bolt count than Class 150. A Class 150 and a Class 300 flange of the same nominal pipe size will not bolt together.
